Little walk around the Central Market KL

The Central Market in the City Center of Kuala Lumpur exists since 1888 and became a top spot for tourists since the 1970s. There are many arts and craft shops, antique stores and restaurants. 2001/02 I discovered it and was inspired by all of that colorful Chinese, Indian and Malyasian clothing and rare antiques. My friend Victor Tan, whom I met first in his Penang antique store 'Pen Antique', moved some years ago to KL.

So I wanted to visit him and his new shop and investigated first some of the fascinating surroundings of the Central Market.

The Central Market.
Durian Kafe - can't even stand the smell.

Small China Town, opulent decorated for Chinese New Year.

Very tasty omelets with peanut filling.

Shadowy pavilions with inside springs at Merdeka Square, a benefit on hot days like that.

The impressive Sultan Abdul Samad Building houses several government departments.

The National Textile Museum.

Architectural framing of the huge Merdeka Square.

Bus terminal.
