Mixed architecture between modern and traditional determines the appearance of the town. Philadelphia's architectural history dates back to the colonial times and includes a wide range of styles. In 1932, Philadelphia became home to the first International Skyscraper in the United States. The PSFS Building is the United States' first modern skyscraper and considered the most important one built in the first part of the 20th century.
